به گفته مدیرعامل ایران خودرو دیزل، ظرفیت باتری این اتوبوس برقی۳۵۰ کیلووات ساعت است که متعلق به یکی از برترین تولیدکننده‌های باتری در دنیاست.
وی اظهار کرد: توان موتور اتوبوس برقی دیزل ۱۹۵ کیلو وات است که می تواند تا ۳۵۰ کیلووات نیز افزایش یابد. همچنین گشتاور این موتور در حالت پیوسته ۱۹۵۰نیوتن متر است که قابلیت افزایش تا ۳۵۰۰ نیوتن متر در بازه‌های زمانی محدود را داراست. ایران خودرو دیزل در حال امضای تفاهم نامه و انجام اقدامات لازم برای داخلی‌سازی این موتور است.
توسلی مهر با اشاره به تفاهم نامه تحویل هزار دستگاه اتوبوس میان ایران خودرو دیزل و اتحادیه اتوبوسرانی‌های شهری کشور در سال گذشته، بیان کرد: ۲۰۰ دستگاه از این قرارداد، اتوبوس برقی است.
وی از تولید انبوه اتوبوس برقی در نیمه دوم سال آینده خبر داد و گفت: با تاکید مدیرعامل گروه صنعتی ایران خودرو، از ابتدای این پروژه، برنامه های خودکفایی و ساخت داخل آن آغاز شده است و با شرکت‌های مختلفی در راستای داخلی سازی مجموعه های برقی این اتوبوس مذاکره صورت گرفته است.
مدیرعامل ایران خودرو دیزل، داخلی‌سازی را یکی از مزایای این محصول دانست که سبب کاهش قیمت آن نسبت به محصولات مشابه موجود در بازار شده است و گفت: اتوبوس برقی، موجب کاهش قابل توجه هزینه های سوخت و تعمیر و نگهداری برای سازمان اتوبوسرانی می‌شود.
وی افزود: اتوبوس برقی و ون برقی از محصولات آتی دیزل به شمار رفته و اقدامات مرتبط با پروژه آن آغاز شده است که می تواند کمک شایانی به کاهش آلایندگی هوا به ویژه در کلان‌شهرها کند. این اقدام مشروط به ایجاد زیرساخت های لازم در کشور برای تولید و تردد محصولات برقی است.
وی گفت: پس از تولید ون برقی، ایران خودرو دیزل تولید اتوبوس هیبرید را در دستور کار دارد.
